Hibernates as a larva. The moths are attracted to light.
The observation in Belgium was late June, abroad the adults fly in two generations a year during April and May and again from July till September.
The polyphagous larva lives on different herbaceous plants and trees like Thymus, Artemisia, Genista, Artemisia, Hippophae, Quercus etc...
It inhabits dry and hot rocky slopes, garigues, heathland and sandy grasslands.
