Bionomics

The caterpillar lives at first in the stem of a terminal shoot of the food plant, killing the tip, then hibernates in the stem. It continues feeding on the flowers during spring.
Pupation on the food plant or nearby foliage.
The adults are active at dusk and later come to light.
