Bionomics

The larva has been found boring in young shoots, causing withered leaves and occasionally swellings. Pupation normally in the shoot, occasionally outside.
During the day the adults rest on bark in crevices and later come to light.

Some specimens have been seen during spring but the species usually fly from mid-July to mid-September.
