A very rare, very local, and declining species in Belgium. Recent observations are only known from a single location in LI and NA. After 2018 no more recordings in LI.

This species is considered Critically Endangered according to the IUCN Red List category for Flanders 2023.
The last sightings date from 2018, but have not been seen since then despite repeated searches.

Bionomics

Hibernates as larva on the food plant.
Pupates usually in debris.
The adults are easily disturbed by day and later come to light.

The adults fly in one generation a year from early July till early September.
