Imago

Wingspan 11-15 mm. Distinguished by yellowish ground colour, metallic irroration and conspicuous yellow dorsal spot.

Bionomics

The larvae bore the fruits and feeding on the seeds. The species can often be seen flying during the day around the food plant and later come to light.

Flight periods

The adults usually fly from mid-May towards August, occasionally later. Most observations during June.

Host plant (genera):
Ligustrum and Fraxinus

The larva lives mainly on Fraxinus excelsior, but it has also been recorded from Ligustrum vulgare and Syringa vulgaris.
