A recent arrival in Belgium (1996), hitherto still a very rare migrant. A southern species which expanding its range in north-western Europe.

7) 1 ♀. on 15.x.2022 at Hooglede (WV), leg. & gen. det. W. Declercq.
8) 1 ex. on 15.x.2022 at Eine (OV), leg. D. De Groote.

Hibernates as a full-grown larva in the soil.
The adults come to light and sugar.
The adults fly in two generations a year during May and June and again in August till late October.
The larva feeds on different species of herbaceous plants like Plantago and Nicotinia
