A very rare and local species in Belgium, hitherto only observations in the southern part of the country.
Native
The larva lives in sand-covered, silken galleries along the shoots on the host plant. The adults are active during the day and at dusk and fly over heaths. Adults come occasionally to light.
The adults can be seen from early May towards early July with most observations during June.
The larva feeds on Genista pilosa, also on other Genista species.
It occurs in suitable localities where the food plant occurs like dry pastures and dry heathland.
