A not so common species throughout Belgium, more observations in the Kempen and southern part of the country.
This species is considered Least Concern according to the IUCN Red List category for Flanders 2023.
Native
The larva feeds at night and rests by day on the underside of a leaf. The species hibernates as a pupa, in a compact cocoon formed underneath moss at the base of a tree, in leaf litter, or in soil.
The adults come to light and infrequently on sugar.
The adults fly from early April till the end of May.
