A rare and local species in Belgium, mainly known from the coastal area.
This species is considered Near Threatened according to the IUCN Red List category for Flanders 2023.
Native
Hibernates as a small larva, low down in the vegetation.
Pupates underground in a strong cocoon.
The adults come to light and on sugar.
The adults fly in one generation a year, mainly from late August till late October.
The larva lives on various herbaceous plants like Sedum acre, Cynoglossum officinale, Plantago maritima, Armeria maritima and Brassica oleracea.
