A very rare and local species in Belgium, not often recorded.
Distribution after 2004 is based on individuals who have been examined for genitalia. Nowadays seems to be a coastal species.
Native
Male genitalia: aedeagus slender and tapering, uncus bristly. Female genitalia: 2 equal elongate spiculate patches in corpus bursae.
The larvae live in webs in the inflorescence of the food plant. The adults come to light.
The adults have been seen from mid-May towards mid-September.
The oligophagous larva lives on Asteraceae like Achillea, Anthemis, Leucanthemum and Tanacetum. Plants on dry substrate, e.g. on walls, dry banks, or old sand dunes, seem to be favoured.
