A rather common species throughout Belgium.
This species is considered Least Concern according to the IUCN Red List category for Flanders 2023.
Native
Hibernates as a pupa underground.
The adults are active at dusk and come to light.
The adults can be seen from late March, but usually from mid-April towards mid-August.
The larva lives on several species of bracken but mainly on Pterideum aquilinum.
