Periphanes delphinii (Linnaeus, 1758) Species

Last modified: Dec. 9, 2024, 2:08 p.m.

This very rare and local species has not been seen in Belgium for a very long time. Probably extinct.
In Central Europe it has already been extirpated by agricultural intensification after world war two. Its strongholds are nowadays in SE-Europe (e.g. Bulgaria, Romania, N-Greece).
