A fairly common species throughout Belgium.
This species is considered Least Concern according to the IUCN Red List category for Flanders 2023.
Native
Hibernates as a pupa usually deep in the ground. The adults come to light.
The adults fly from April till June with a peak in May. Sometimes single individuals are seen outside the main flightperiod (January, October), but this is very unusual.
The larva lives on different species of Quercus.
