A very rare and local species in Belgium, not seen for a while.
Native
Wingspan 12–15 mm.
The larva lives probably between leaves or develops in the galls on the host plant, but what is certain is that the larva only drills into the gall (gall wasp species of the genus Andricus) during hibernation and pupation.
The adults are only weakly attracted to light.
The adults are on the wing from April towards early September.
It inhabits woods and forests.
