A very rare species in Belgium.

Wingspan 14–17 mm.
The larva occcupies a web beneath the lower leaves where pupation takes place in a light cocoon. Larvae have been observed in long silken spun tubes connecting to the resting place.
The adults become active around dusk and later come to light.
The adults from mid-June till late August.
The larva lives mainly on Rumex acetosella, sometimes also on Rumex acetosa..
It inhabits dry or sandy places like heathland etc...
