A very rare and local species in Belgium.
Native
Wingspan 10–14 mm. A species with a white or pale ochre wing extensively mottled grey. The grey mottling coalesces into a basal and a central patch which has discrete black spots. Thoracic scale tuft with brown markings and scattered marks across the wing especially on the termen and apex. The hindwings of the males are whitish, whereas those of the female are dark.
The larvae feed in flowers and in the seed capsules. They move from the foodplant fully fed to bore into a nearby plant stem where they hibernate and pupate in the spring.
The adults can be seen during the day flying around the food plant en later they come sparsely to light.
The adults have been observed from late April till early July.
The larva feeds on Hyacinthoides non-scripta.
It inhabits woodland habitat, especially bluebell woods.
