A rather common species throughout Belgium.
This species is considered Least Concern according to the IUCN Red List category for Flanders 2023.
Native
Hibernates as a larva on twigs in the canopy in the food plant.
The adults come to light.
The adults fly in one generation a year from mid-May till early August. In favourable years a partial second generation occurs during September.
The larva lives on various species of deciduous trees, but mainly on Quercus.
