New for Belgium in 2014 in NA. Hitherto a local and very rare species in the southern part of Belgium.
Native
Wingspan 10–12 mm. It has chocolate brown wings that are grey towards the base. The face and palps are whitish. There is a pair of cream, slightly curved strigulae from the dorsum at one half. There are four pairs costal strigulae. The first two are paired and well separated from the next two that are paired. They subtend short plumbeous striae. The ocellar area has a curved plumbeous bar. The dark cilia are silvery colored.
The larva lives in the seed pods on the host plant. Hibernates as a larva in a cocoon in litter on the ground.
The adults fly on sunny afternoons and later come to light.
The adults fly from mid-May towards early July.
The larva lives on Astragalus glycyphyllos
It inhabits open places, meadows, grasslands, uncultivated ground etc...
