A rather common species throughout Belgium.
This species is considered Least Concern according to the IUCN Red List category for Flanders 2023.
Native
Hibernates as a pupa in a loose cocoon among lichens. The adults come to light.
The adults fly usually from late April till mid-July in one generation a year. Depending on weather conditions, the species can be observed till November in small numbers.
The larva lives on various species of lichens growing on Quercus, Prunus spinosa, Larix and Fagus.
