Imago

Wingspan about 20 mm. A. turbidana is a more black and white coloured species with a prominent thick white streak to basal area of forewing, mottled with grey and black scales extending onto costa being characteristic.

Bionomics

The larva lives in spun leaves on the food plant. Pupation takes places in the larval habitation or in freshly spun leaves.
It can be encountered resting on tree trunks during the day. The adults are active at dusk and later come to light.

Flight periods

The adults fly usually from mid-May towards mid-July with a peak in June. Often a partial second generation occurs from mid-July towards September.
