Distribution


Imago

Wingspan 17–20 mm. A greyish Apotomis species with darker markings. Markings are primarily a dark mark placed half way along the costa which may be black in the centre of the wing.

Caterpillar

Green body with three darker length lines, head and prothoracic plate yellowish green, anal plate inconspicuous, pinacula concolorous with body.

Bionomics

The young larvae live in the catkins, later among spun leaves. The adults are active at dusk and later come to light.

Flight periods

The adults have been observed from late May towards early Sepember with a peak during July.
