Wingspan 20–24 mm. Quite a dark species overall, but characterised by the distinctive whitish underbody and legs.

Bionomics

The caterpillar lives from autumn until after hibernation in May. After winter, the caterpillars make a small weaving at the edge of the leaves, on the underside. In later stages the leaves are further folded and spun together.
Flies exclusively at night, but is easily disturbed during the day and later come to light.
