Wingspan c. 9 mm. A grey appearance with some bicolored white scales and a white tornal spot or a white fascia.

Bionomics

The larva lives in the flower heads of the host plant, spinning them together and causing a brownish stain.
Overwintering and pupation in a cocoon in the dead flowers of the food plant.
The adults are active during sunny days and fly around the host plants. They come sparsely to light.


Flight periods

The adults fly in one generation a year from late April towards early June.
