A rather rare species throughout Belgium.
Native
The larva lives under a slight silken web on the upperside of the food plant's leaves. It pupates in a dense white cocoon on or close to the ground.
The adults come to light.
The adults fly in two generations a year from May to August, occasionally till mid-September.
The larva lives on Betula. In Belgium also found occasionally on Sorbus aucuparia.
