A very rare and local species in Belgium. There are no records in the 21st century, so the species might have disappeared from the country.

Wingspan 20–25 mm.
The caterpillar lives in the flower buds, flowers and seeds, less commonly also on the leaves.
Pupation on the stem of the food plant.
Two generation a year from April to July and September.
Oligophagous on Saxifragaceae, of all mentioned species in the literature, only Saxifraga granulata occurs in Belgium, but it is possible that the species lives on other Saxifraga * species. Other recorded food plants like Plantago, Globularia and Gentiana* need verification.
Open places in forests, grassy slopes.
