A very rare and local species in Belgium, observed in the south and east of the country. Study of the genitalia is sometimes necessary to identify the specimens, especially when they are worn.

Not much is known about the biology of this species. Adults have been observed resting on the trunks of Fagus sylvatica and they also come readily to light.
One generation a year from May till early July.
Probably polyphagous on various tree species.
Mixed forest with many open places.
