A very rare and local species in Belgium, mainly observed in the Calestienne region.
Native
Size and shape of the single cornutus of the male which is, essentially, short and fat.
The larvae feed on the food plant, often near a nest of the yellow ant (Lasius flavus), and form a silken gallery sometimes including debris from the ants' nest. The adults come to light.
The adults fly from May towards August.
The larva feeds on Thymus serpyllum.
The species prefers chalk or limestone soils and sandy heath areas.
