A fairly common species throughout Belgium, more recorded in the northern part of the country.
Native
Length 4–6 mm, width 1.5–2 mm, rather flat but cross-section triangular, covered with particles of soil and algae.
The eggs are laid on bark of several tree species.
Adults are active at night and sometimes come to light.
One generation a year from mid-April to July.
Forests, but also humid open landscapes.
