This species is considered Least Concern according to the IUCN Red List category for Flanders 2023.

They hibernate as a pupa among plant debris.
The adults come to light.
The adults fly in one generation a year from late April till the end of July. Occasionally a sporadic partial second generation occurs in September.
The larva lives preferably on Crataegus and Prunus spinosa. Sometimes, it can be found on other trees as well.
