The larva lives between spun leaves on the food plant. The adults come to light.

Myrica gale is the most taken food plant. The larvae are also mentioned on Sanguisorba officinalis, Fragaria, Lespedeza, Medicago sativa, Ledum palustre, Artemisia, Cirsium, Citrus, Malus, Populus and Pyrus.
