Bionomics

The larva feeds in a gallery or web, spinning the flowers and seeds to the main stalk on the food plant. It hibernates in its cocoon and pupates in a tough semitransparent cocoon.
They are active at dusk and come to light.

Flight periods

The adults can be seen from mid-May towards mid-August, but most specimens fly in June and July.
