A very local and rare species in Belgium, only known from the extreme south of the country, the Gaume.
Native
Wingspan 18–20 mm.
Not much is known about the biology of this species, also because of the confusion and species delimitation in this difficult Stenoptilia group of species.
The synonymy of Stenoptilia aridus and S. picardi has not been established with certainty yet.
One long generation a year, or perhaps two difficult to separate generations from April till October.
Oligophagous on Scrophulariaceae, Dipsacacea, ... but many recorded food plants in the literature do not occur in Belgium.
