Bionomics

Not much is known about the biology of this species, also because of the confusion and species delimitation in this difficult Stenoptilia group of species.
The synonymy of Stenoptilia aridus and S. picardi has not been established with certainty yet.

Flight periods

One long generation a year, or perhaps two difficult to separate generations from April till October.


Observed on

Host plant (species):
Succisa pratensis and Antirrhinum orontium

Oligophagous on Scrophulariaceae, Dipsacacea, ... but many recorded food plants in the literature do not occur in Belgium.
